In 2003, Navistar, Inc. started Navistar Defense, LLC, to answer the U.S. government's request for armored and unarmored military vehicles. Navistar Defense transformed from an idea into a company with annual sales of more than $2 billion.

Navistar utilizes nine different manufacturing plants and has the capacity to produce more than 100,000 trucks and 500,000 engines each year. Navistar's vast array of proven vehicle systems and technologies are made available to Cal Pacific Truck Center Defense in support of military customers. Navistar leverages its commercial truck engineering and manufacturing expertise and global supply network to provide cost-effective solutions to the armed services. These capabilities allow us to swiftly adapt vehicles to meet the growing threats and challenges faced by the troops.

Navistar has gained tremendous momentum as a leader in producing and servicing top-quality military vehicles. To date, the company has won contracts to build more than 20,000 military vehicles for the United States military and our allies.

Headquarters are located in Warrenville, Illinois. Production sites for military vehicles include Garland, Texas; Tulsa, Oklahoma; and West Point, Mississippi. MaxxForce® Diesel engines are produced at the company's engine assembly plants in Melrose Park, Illinois, and Huntsville, Alabama.
